Generally the recommended fixing system is a combination of adhesive and permanent fasteners. The use of fastener only fixing systems should be restricted to applications where adhesive cannot be used, such as in fire rated installations, tiled areas and over existing linings or vapour barriers.

Plasterboard nails are hot dipped galvanised and provide excellent holding power, while the ring - shank, lattice head nails are designed specifically to provide good bite into timber without damaging the face of the plasterboard.

Gypsum screws are available in a large range of sizes to suit every plasterboard application and for fixing into either timber or metal framing.

Stud adhesives are formulated for adhesive/fastener application of plasterboard to both timber and metal frames.

Basecoat 100 is a non - shrink setting - type cement that allows a second application approximately one hour after the first coat has been applied.

Jointmaster Topping Compound is a joint finishing compound suitable for hand or machine application and is the ideal last coat product.

Jointing tapes ( paper or self adhesive ) have been developed to enable the preparation of strong joints and must be used on all butt and recess joints.
